Community Resources

The Midland County Continuum of Care is a collaborative made up of representatives from some of the more than 28 agencies listed below.  Their mission is to provide housing-related services to those who are homeless or living in substandard housing.
 

Affordable Housing Alliance 

Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) is a non-profit organization that is devoted to the development of affordable housing opportunities for low-income Midland families. AHA owns rental units that are provided for rent at less than market rates to families who earn less than 30% and 50% of median income in Midland County.

Cancer Services

Our mission has been to provide personal and compassionate cancer support, education, and prevention services to Midland, Clare, and Gladwin counties. We work to improve the quality of life of our clients and the health of our community, and all of our services are free of charge.

Caregiving Network

 

Caregiving Network is a Christian non-profit agency (501c3) that partners with local churches, community organizations, and individuals to provide resources to more than 12,000 Midland County residents who are unable to meet their basic needs. Their services include: food pantry, clothing pantry, rent assistance, heat assistance, Midland Community Former Offenders Advocacy and Rehabilitation (MCFOAR) assistance, transportation assistance, household hoods, diapers, etc.

City of Midland Planning/Housing

The City of Midland's Housing Department oversees the areas of affordable housing issues for the community including allocation of Community Development Block Grant Funding to assist in code-compliance issues, construction of affordable housing options and operation of two senior living communities – Washington Woods and Riverside Place.

Legal Services of Eastern Michigan is a nonprofit organization that gives free civil legal help to low-income people. Our mission is to use legal skills to address to address the causes and effects of poverty, especially those that affect the survival needs of low-income people.

Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is a human services organization that serves over 40 cities in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with more than 70 programs, including adoption, a community center, foster care, family preservation, independent, assisted living and rehabilitation centers for seniors, skilled nursing centers, refugee resettlement and employment services, subsidized housing, and services for the homeless and developmentally disabled. Michigan Works! – Great Lakes Bay Region

Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! is a consortium established to operate workforce development programs to assist employers in finding and retaining qualified employees and assuring that the labor force meets the needs of employers. We operate three sites in Saginaw, Midland, and Bay counties.
